BOCA RATON – The Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District removed the “Interim” tag from Briann Harms' job title, officially promoting her to Executive Director. “Briann's dedication to the Boca Raton community and her effectiveness as the interim made this an easy decision for us,” Commission Chairperson Susan Vogelgesang said. “She stepped into the Executive Director position and met or exceeded all expectations, proving to be a tremendous asset for the Boca Raton community.”  

It’s nearly a wrap for the public Swim & Racquet Center’s $5.1 million redo.  Construction sign-off is expected in the next two weeks, said Briann Harms, interim executive director, Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District.

Boca’s famous 40-foot tower at Gumbo Limbo Nature Center can be rebuilt with access for all.  An incline used at a Maryland park complies with Americans With Disabilities standards. Friends of Gumbo Limbo have pledged a $500,000 donation to help fund the project, Michele Peel said Monday. Fundraising efforts for this campaign are expected to start in the next few weeks.
