Recharge At Patch Reef Park
There's a new way to get a charge out of Patch Reef Park.
Several weeks ago the six new electric car charging stations came online at Patch Reef.
Workers installed the chargers as part of the covered pickleball complex project.
“With electric cars becoming more prevalent, we wanted to ensure that park visitors have a place to re-charge while recreating or relaxing,” Greater Boca Raton Beach and Park District Commissioner Erin Wright said.
Within a honor of their activation, one of the charging stations was already being used.
The charging stations are located adjacent to the covered pickleball courts on the south side of Patch Reef.
The stations, manufactured by ChargePoint, use the ChargePoint card or app for operations. Users will be charged $2.50 per hour for the first two hours of changing. After those two hours, the fee is $5 for each additional hour.
Users are asked to be considerate of other park goers looking for a charge by removing vehicles from the charging spot once charging is complete.
Patch Reef now offers six charging stations.
