The Board of Commissioners of the Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District (the "District") is seeking proposals for Professional Golf Course Architectural/ Architectural/ Engineering/ Surveying/ Landscape Architectural and Consulting Services for the redesign and rebuilding of 27-hole golf course (formerly known as Ocean Breeze) including new irrigation, landscaping, practice range, golf cart maintenance and learning center, pro shop, clubhouse, administrative offices, meeting space, maintenance buildings, and other golf course infrastructure and appurtenances. The City of Boca Raton often refers to itself as a “City within a Park”. But how this all came to be presents a very compelling story of the need, foresight and cooperation between our local elected bodies.

Twenty members of the Swim & Racquet Club of Greater Boca Raton came to protest, but went away happy after finding all their tennis courts would probably not be closed temporarily and especially not during season.

The Greater Boca Raton Beach & Park District has promised its Swim and Racquet Center will remain open while $2.7 million in renovations are completed at the site.

Sugar Sand Park to Undergo Renovations

Two decades after people built Sugar Sand Park by volunteering their time and effort, the Boca Raton Beach & Park District is moving forward with plans to improve the park, which serves the eastern Boca community.

With hundreds of hatchlings squirming in the tanks below, dignitaries from Florida Atlantic University, the city of Boca Raton and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center celebrated an improvement in their accommodations.
